LifeWatches Plus, like its predecessor LifeWatches, is a general-purpose, multi-timer, event logging application for iPhone and iPad. The app creates a table of unlimited (except by device memory) rows. Each row can contain a running timer. There are seven types of timers: date (date when set, not updated); seconds, minutes, hours, months, days, and years. Each row can also contain a name associated with the timer; one of three colors as a general tag; a specific tag; and a reset date. When the date/time is reset, a time stamp appears in the row for that timer. This allows you to see the exact date/time that the timer was reset to. Note: resetting does NOT stop a timer. To stop a timer, select a Manual sort and select Delete.
Each timer may be a stopwatch (count up) timer or a countdown timer. Each row may also contain a photo (taken from the devices camera if it supports one or from the devices photo library). To enable or disable the camera, go to Settings>LifeWatch on your iPhone or iPad.
The app provides selectable sorts to sort the rows based on date or specific tag. There is a segmented control at the top of the Detail screen to select which sort to use and there are arrows at the left of the screen to choose an up or down sort.
There are many uses for LIfeWatches Plus. It can be used as an inventory tracker with the timer name as the items name, the date as the acquisition date, and the camera to take a picture of the item. It can be used as a general to-do list, with the color tag set to priority and the countdown timer set to the due date. Its most unique role is as a diary of events. For example, a days timer could be set to count down the number of days to an upcoming event such as a wedding. After the wedding, the same timer remains as a permanent reminder of the important event and updates each day after the event. As an event diary, the app can also be used as a history of past events, for example, by starting a days timer with the name "Pearl Harbor" and resetting the date to December 7, 1941. The timer then shows the years and days since then. The app can also be used to convert between any of the supported types, such as converting the years/days since Pearl Harbor to hours, minutes, or even seconds. The app maintains a table of resets, which can be used to record multiple occurrences of an event, for example, to be used to lose or gain a particular habit or to record when medications are taken.
The Settings for the program has an Auto Reset toggle switch. When the switch is on, each timer is automatically set and reset to the current date/time when it is started. When the switch is off, the Reset switch on the Detail screen must be used to reset the timer. To view or change the settings, goto Settings>LifeWatch.
All of this capability is available in a single app, which can replace several other separate apps.
If you do not need the specific tag and photo features, a less expensive version is available as LifeWatches.
